Writing Wrongs

November 14, 2006

Last night, we went to the kids’ haircut place. Andrew’s been having a hair dilemma. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. It was getting shaggy and each morning, he woke up with untamable bed-head.

I showed him where they kept the hairstyle books, on the off chance he might glance at one. Oh, he glanced. He scoured them, examining each boy style. Mind you, a year ago or even a couple of months ago, he wouldn’t have considered being within three feet of a hairstyle book, never mind picking one up and being seen looking at it.

Sniff. My boy’s growing up.

He decided on something rather radical. During the cut, Kyra was enraptured. “Oh, Andrew,” she said, “you look so cool!”

Afterward, he couldn’t stop messing with his hair, looking in the mirror, and generally bouncing around, all excited about it. Here’s the results:

The new Andrew!

Kyra wants to grow her hair, so she just got a trim, but was extra pleased about the “pony” the stylist put in her hair.
