You know, I�ve been thinking. The people behind Book Millionaire are completely missing the big picture. You don�t even have to think �outside the box� for this one. There�s so much drama inherent in writers� groups, who needs phony book promotion tasks?

Simply put, all you need is a houseful of writers, of various genres. Let�s include literary and techno-thriller, hard science fiction and high fantasy, inspirational romance and romantica. There�s our mix. Now for the episodes:

• When critique groups attack: when the hand you hold is the hand that holds you down.


• Clash of the alpha females: AKA, I�m in charge here. (Really, this is scary, trust me.)


• Invasion of the Rule Nazis: They�ll blitzkrieg your manuscript.


• Silence of the critique partners: It sucks so bad, no one has the heart to tell you.


• The hit and run writer: Here�s my 600-page novel for your critique. Oops, sorry, no time to read yours. But really, have you read mine yet? What do you think? Why haven�t you dropped everything to read it?


• The brass ring & sour grapes: How did she get a contract/agent/award when she writes fluff/obscure and pretentious literary fiction/crap?


• When genres collide: The penultimate episode, a good, old-fashioned throw down between writers. Come on, you know you want to.


• The last writer standing: the one who hid in the closet.

And you think I�m making this up. And lest any of my critique partners wander in and wonder if I�m referring to them, let me say I�m blessed to be part of a wonderful group of writers. As for the above? It's an exaggeration.
